Click here for photographic evidence that Trouble (with a capital "T") is coming our way (scroll down to get the full effect).

Notice how I grabbed the camera before I saved the cat :)

I took Simon to the doctor this morning. He weighs 16lb 2oz (50th percentile) and is 27 3/4" tall (95th percentile), so he's tall and slim...just like his Dad. We also got a referral to the Children's Hospital to get the shape of his head checked. It's not too flat, but I thought it's better to be safe than sorry. I've always regretted not getting a helmet for Devon when she was a baby. Fortunately, her hair covers the flat spot, but it's more difficult for a boy to get away with it.

There are a few things that I can't get enough of these days: putting this on my eyes; making these for Christmas (I'm going to try to make a CD holder next); ordering stuff online from Sears and having it delivered, for free, to the dry cleaners at the corner of my street; and, reading this website and this other one way too many times every day.

I also have to admit that I'm addicted to slathering my hands with hand cream and wearing laytex gloves to bed. Oh, how soft my hands are in the morning. Combined with my night guard, it's amazing that my marriage is intact.

Simon is sitting on his own! He's quite excited to see the world from this new perspective. Actually, he gets a bit too excited. He'll see something he wants that's just beyond his reach and launch himself forward, landing on his face in the process. So, I have to stay pretty close by to give hugs and kisses.

Jeff took him to see Santa on Sunday and Simon was totally fascinated. He just stared and stared at Santa with a huge smile on his face. The woman taking the photo had to ring bells to get him to look toward the camera for a fraction of a second. The resulting pic is pretty darn cute. Simon has a look of pure bliss on his face.

I just realized that my last post sounded pretty shocking, and perhaps needs a bit more detail. I had just met up with my friends with the intention of going for a walk and then going for tea. If Devon had seen me, I would have had to bring her home with me, and that just wasn't possible right then. Simon was still (and is still) feeling pretty sick, so it would have been difficult to care for both of them at the same time.
