Jeff and I started painting our bedroom this morning. To start, we moved a bunch of stuff out of the room, then started picking things up off the floor. As I was moving some magazines, I saw a greeting card with three hearts on it. I opened it up and read "I love my wife even though she's suspicious. Ha! Ha! Ha!" I turned to Jeff and asked him when he'd given that to me because I didn't remember it. He started laughing and said that he'd found the blank card a couple of months ago and had written that inside and hidden it in a pile of papers because he knew I'd find it one day and open it out of....suspicion? I think the better word here is 'curiousity.' Sheesh!

My parents returned last night from a trip to Denmark. Naturally, they bought Devon clothes. Did you know that Lego makes clothes? Well, we now have a child dressed head to toe in Lego.

Back to painting....

I just checked my blog stats and am totally blown away by the fact that there are still people checking for updates. So, I'm feeling kind of guilty. Actually, how do you know that I wasn't violently murdered three months ago, and that my body hasn't been sitting here decomposing over the keyboard? Sheesh! Has there been no concern at all? Just kidding (sort of).

Here's a summary of the last two months.

* Travel: Whitehorse; Edmonton; Calgary; Quebec City; Gaspe; Sherbrooke; cottage; Montreal; Stratford; Toronto
* Events: Dad turned 60; Julie got married; Melissa got engaged; Shawn got engaged; bought new car
* Devon: walking; running; jumping; saying lots of words; super exceptionally cute
* News: going back to work full-time in September; Devon switching daycare; painted my office a wild colour of red
* In the works: Seattle (October and January); Manitoba (October); Hawaii? (this is where we're guessing Shawn's wedding will be)
* Recently read (all since June 5th!): not the Ottawa Citizen (I cancelled in protest); While I was Gone (Sue Miller); Artemis Fowl (Eoin Colfer); Daughter of Fortune (Isabel Allende); Code to Zero (Ken Follett); Hearts in Atlantis (Stephen King); The Bear's Embrace (Patricia Van Tighem); A Painted House (John Grisham); The Constant Gardener (John Le Carre)...I read a lot of crap in the summers!

So, you can see it's been a busy three months. I was away for about six weeks of it.

I have hundreds of photos and will try to scan some in shortly.
