I'm really getting behind on this blog thing. It's not that there's nothing to report, it's just that life has been so busy lately.
We're being audited by the CCRA (aka Revenue Canada) at work at it has made my life a living hell. First they needed all our grant agreements. Fine...it took me a few days to gather these. We're talking about 45 grants or so, with papers spread among our 12 offices. Then they had to be photocopied on legal sized paper. But, ooops, the text has to be on the bottom half of the page. Oh ya, and can we have all the interim/progress and final narrative reports that go with those grants? More calling and emailing to the other offices. Another week of photocopying goes by. Ooops, we forgot to tell you we want the original proposals too. Oh ya, and the grant agreements need to be on pink legal sized paper. Oh, and we need the cheques photocopied too...front and back.

I have to tell you that I almost burst out in tears on more than one occasion. I have done nothing but audit stuff for the last 3 weeks, and have nothing but audit stuff to do for another week. What this means is that all my 'real' work is piling up on my desk, including preparation for a bunch of half day training sessions I'm doing in early June. Crap!
In Devon news, she's as cute as ever. She's walking, but very cautiously and not very often. She still prefers her hands and knees. She's learned more animal noises. My favourite is chicken. Instead of "boc, boc, boc" she says "oooogoooogoooogooo."
Devon is developing some funny eating habits. If she doesn't like something, she sticks out her tongue and uses both hands to scrape everything off while making gagging noises. It takes a huge effort on our part not to react to this. Jeff usually has to leave the room to hide his laughter. She'll also only eat things off an adult fork. Since she can't yet spear anything, it means we have to continually impale food on the tongs so that she has something to eat. It's rather labour intensive, but I guess she's learning.
Gotta run. Time to put the peach to bed. Tomorrow is my Mother's Day. I have the whole day off with Devon in daycare. I haven't decided what to do yet, but sleeping in is definitely on the agenda.
Ta ta.
