Okay, this is getting crazy. Devon has figured out a whole bunch of things this week. She's learned to crawl and she's learned to pull herself up on things. What this means is that when I put her down for a nap she either crawls around her crib bonking her head on the sides, or she pulls herself up then lets go, bonking her head on the side. Her head is now covered in big red blotches. It would be fine if she would pull herself up and get stuck standing up, but she pulls herself up then celebrates by waving her hands around in delight (i.e., letting go). One thing I've learned is that when she's standing at the edge of the crib and falls straight backwards, she misses the opposite side of the crib by about 1/4". Only problem is that she usually falls sideways and hits one end or the other.
I think I'll try putting her down for naps on the floor.
Happy birthday Grandma!!! You don't look a day over 81 ;)
Sorry for the silence lately. On top of computer problems that continue to plague us, Devon continues to get more sick. Last night was the worst since she was born. She was crying from 12am to 6am *non-stop.* We were about ready to throw her out the window. On Saturday night she was up every 1.5 hours...we thought that was bad. I'm definitely suffering.
We've now taken her to the doctor twice. One said it was croup, the other said it was a cold. Fortunately, we have an appointment with her pediatrician on Wednesday (who we haven't seen yet about this particular illness). He's good so I'm anxious to hear what he has to say.
Meanwhile, we have to haul our sorry asses over to Sears this afternoon to get Devon's portrait taken. I hope her nose stops running long enough not to ruin her new Christmas dress!
