Is anyone else starting to feel really vulnerable? There seems to be white powdery substances turning up all over the U.S. I have to admit that I'm pretty glad to be a stay-at-home-mom these days: I don't have to go downtown; don't have to travel; am with my baby 24 hours a day; and can watch plenty of CNN.

It's a scary world out there!

I don't know why I'm feeling so lazy about this lately. I haven't posted a photo in ages. It's not like I don't have any. I have at least 100 (no kidding) that I've taken in the last couple of months. I'll get around to it one of these days.

It could be that I've been spending all my extra time knitting. The only thing I can do while knitting is watch TV, so I've been in front of the tube way more than usual. I think I've watched more CNN in the last few weeks than I've watched in my whole life. On the plus side, I'm knitting a beautiful sweater for Devon. It's a chunky knit cardigan (almost a jacket) with a hood. It's in a really nice colour of pink. Although I've been trying to stay away from pink, this is a really nice colour. Yarn is expensive: I need 5 bundles just for a baby sweater and it normally costs upwards of $5 a bundle. However, I found a bunch on sale at Giant Tiger for $1.97. I bought $45 worth! Let's just say that there will be a few babies I know wearing chunky cardigans by Christmas...unless I get really sick of knitting the same sweater over and over again.

I've decided to go with a more simple template for the blog. A few people (including myself) complained that it was difficult to read. Let me know what you think.

Message to those of you who have been (or will be) leaving messages on our answering machine: that is not crying...it's laughter! Hysterical laughter maybe, but laughter all the same.

Honestly, I would not record Devon crying. That would be cruel.

Oh why bother...even after I tell people it's laughter, they don't believe me.

Devon is waving bye-bye. It's the cutest thing ever (maybe only to her relatives though!). She's been doing it consistently for about a week, so it's not just a fluke.

In other news, my parents babysat Devon for most of the day yesterday. I had a meeting, then spent a couple of hours at Chapters. It was heavenly!

Gotta go. A tired baby beckons!

If anyone needs further proof that Devon is a good sleeper, here it is: she slept through my uncle playing his bagpipes in the living room. Didn't even flinch.
