Okay, I know she's doing this 'late' according to the books, but Devon has rolled from her back to her belly about four times this afternoon. I'm so proud of her! She doesn't mind being on her tummy anymore and is starting to try to scoot around. Crawling is around the corner!
We just got back from a lovely get together with Andrea and Sarah at the new Thyme & Again store. They now serve coffee which is great for me since it's just down the street. They also have dreamy desserts. Yikes. What with that and The Three Tarts opening up in the old Thyme & Again location, I'm doomed.
On the way home we stopped by St. Vincent de Paul. I found a cute pair of barely used Osh Kosh overalls for Devon...for $3.49. What a steal! And they're 12 month size so they'll fit her in the winter. I'll have to pop in there every now and again to look for more bargains.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. We think we'll go for a hike to Mer Bleu tomorrow (Devon loves the backpack carrier, so she should enjoy it) and on Sunday we're going to Todd and Jen's for Cameron's 2nd birthday. It will be Devon's first birthday party. Should be fun.
a) I'm working on getting rid of the ad up top so don't let it bug you.
b) I'm trying to figure out how to change the colour of the links on this page because I'm sure I'm not the only one whose eyes are going buggy looking at them.
c) This will become more exciting over time.
I've tried and tried and I can't get blogger to publish this onto our website. If anyone knows the trick, let me know . I did a search of the web and it appears that a lot of other people have had the same problem.
I just got back from the Loblaws on MacArthur Avenue. I am now a convert. They really have everything there: organic produce; a photo lab; books and magazines; kids clothing; gourmet yummies...you name it, they have it. Best of all, their shopping carts are car seat friendly. Trust me, this is a big deal.
I've had mixed feelings about the new Loblaws going in on Kirkwood Avenue near our house. Mainly, I'm concerned about the amount of traffic it will generate. However, I do have to admit that it will be very nice to have it so close by. As it is, I spend a fortune at the Herb and Spice. I won't stop going there when the new Loblaws opens, but I will be more selective in my purchases.
I needed a break last night so I headed out to Chapters after dinner. I got myself a coffee (low fat, decaf...I'm so good!) and started to browse. I could honestly spend all day there, but sooner than I would have liked, they started announcing that the store would soon be closing. I ended up buying two books for Devon: Guess How Much I Love You and Bunny my Honey. I also got one book for myself (sort of): Baby Games by Elaine Clow-Martin. It has lots of good ideas.
Well, enough for now. Devon is sleeping and I can feel my bed calling out to me.
Well, I'm still working out the hickups (like getting rid of the ad at the top of the page!), but I hope you like the new look of my blog. You can still see old posts by visting my former blog.
